Careprovider.org Foundation, a 501(C) (3) Non-profit is a social and human service provider dedicated to strengthening and preserving communities, families, residential care groups, and organizations in partnership with their affiliates, by means of culturally sensitive, trauma informed specialized care , training and resource availability for the clients and communities we serve.
We are committed to identifying and addressing social and human service concerns, community development, that affect youth, Adults and Elderly persons in underserved communities or persons going through a social or human crisis.
During the past seventeen (17) years, CareProvider.Org Foundation has worked with male and female children/youth (12 -17 yrs), young adults (ages 18 to 21) and their families within the three, 6-Bed residential group home program that was licensed by CA Department of Social Services (CDSS) and contracted with Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Service (DCFS). All the children, youth and young adults in our care were challenging to serve, dually diagnosed, mental health needs, experienced trauma, abuse, neglect or substance abuse disorders and behaviors. Several of the individuals were also clients of the Regional Center and remained in our program till they turned 21 years, before they transitioned to home placements or Regional Center Programs.
Our goal has always been to provide health & safety, stability, and permanency as well as emancipation/ Supportive Living Services for the children and young adults. Our specialty, and largest population were young adults from ages 18- 21 years. We have established a strong reputation for the quality of work and services of our clients and their families, contract holders, staff, and colleagues. Our program was always at capacity; the children and young adults did not want to leave our Program because of the family / home environment we always strived to maintain, and the strong bond that existed between youth and agency staff. This was the trademark of our organization – A Home Away from Home. As the Executive Director I had an open-door policy for both consumers and staff to always have access to upper management and I knew everyone personally. For both reasons mentioned above, in addition to our commitment to excellence, we always had a waiting list to enter our program.
For 17 plus years, our sister agency, Careprovider.Org Residential Training Services, (Careprovider-RTS), has been vendored with California Department of Social Services, CDSS, to provide mandatory Administrator Certification Trainings for initial and existing Certified Residential Facility Administrators. Careprovider-RTS also provides in-service training for Foster/Resource families, our youth and their families, our staff (Mental health staff, Facility Managers, Case Managers, DSP’s, and Child Care Counselors) – that Careprovider.org Foundation served/s, as well as the residential care industry (youth, adults, elderly) in the State of California.
